Adamas is the enigmatic leader of the namesake organization, the Disciples of Adamas. Outside the inner circles of the Shadovar, little is known of his origin, or how he came to join them. Raynar Thrul is aware that Adamas is his half-brother.
It is believed that he impressed the mysterious lords of the Shadovar with his skill at Artifice, possibly possessing even greater capacity to recondition Netherese artifacts than even their own practitioners. His area of expertise seems to be other forms of Artifice, such as that of Imaskar.
It is known that his organization provides many technological resources to the Shadovar, and may be responsible for the construction of their iconic Flying Fortresses, now believed to be largely unrelated to classical Netherese flying cities.
Adamas does not favor complex organizations; the Disciples consist of 12 members, each selected by Adamas himself, in partnership of learning and the craft of Artifice, and whatever resources those disciples choose personally to employ. The identity of these disciples is unknown, save for a few, such as Gurunov Bain, now believe deceased.
Appearance
Few have observed Adamas directly, but those who have agree on the following points.
Adamas is, or appears to be, human. He may be a Shade; it is difficult to say by observing a projected image, which is his preferred means of communication with those outside the Shadovar organization.
He is very tall, over 6'6", and slender, almost gaunt. He typically wears a black cape over similar clothes, with no identifying marks. He seems to prefer a high-collared mantle and no headgear. Distinctively, his right hand has been replaced with a mechanical replica.
Personality
Adamas' personality is best describe as: terse. Perhaps within his organization, he is more open, but in his limited communication with outsiders, he displays no emotion. He can discuss murder or the weather with the same straight face. He has a slight air of regret about him at all times, but his actions point to an insatiable lust for knowledge of Artifice, despite the human cost.
Abilites
Rumors about Adamas' abilities vary widely, and many believe that none alive have seen him display any in particular, thus all rumors are not to be believed.
His greatest resource seems to be his command of the Disciples, and their vast array of construct servitors and other tools of Artifice. His least servants seem quite capable of defending themselves, with or without the aid of the Knights of the Last Sunrise or the Cult of Twilight.
